Benefits Available

Employees working at least 30 hours per week are eligible for the following benefits which are effective the first day of the month following date of hire:

Employees working at least 15 hours per week are eligible for the following benefits which are effective the first of the month following date of hire:

Paid Time Off

A Paid Time Off (PTO) plan is provided to employees for vacation, holidays, personal time, and leave for unforeseen circumstances. PTO is available to eligible employees working at least 15 hours per week, pro-rated based on regular hours worked and length of service.

Catastrophic Leave

A Catastrophic Account (CAT) provides protection from pay losses due to an employee’s hospitalization or long-term serious medical problems. CAT time is available for eligible employees working at least 15 hours, pro-rated based on regular hours worked.

Disability Program

A serious medical condition can result in the loss of essential income. The disability plans administered by SMP Health System help to provide protection during such a situation. The disability program is available after three months of service, to employees working at least 30 hours per week.

Other Employee Programs

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – SMP Health System provides employees and their family members resources to help in dealing with personal or workplace concerns affecting your life.  These may include stress and anxiety, relationships, family issues, alcohol and substance abuse, grief and loss, parenting, workplace concerns, anger, financial/legal issues, and child/elder care.  Up to three visits per issue are provided at no cost.
  • Direct deposit and online payroll
  • Short Notice Pay
  • Service Awards program – In recognition of service to SMP Health System, recognition is given after the following years of continuous service:  3, 5, 10, 15, 20, and at five year intervals thereafter
  • Annual Performance Reviews
  • Educational assistance and loan forgiveness for certain positions.

401(k) Savings Plan

SMP Health System’s principal benefit for retirement income is the 401(k) Savings Plan.

  • Employee Contributions – An employee can start contributing to the plan immediately upon employment.
  • Employer Contributions – The first payroll after meeting eligibility requirements, an employer contribution equal to 3% of the employee’s wages will be made to an employee’s 401(k) account.  The employee must have worked 1,000 hours within the prior 12 months and be at least 21 years of age.
  • An employee may choose his/her own investment options, and may change deferral amounts or make changes in investment options at any time.
  • The vesting schedule is based on years of service, with 100% vesting after six years of employment.
  • Vesting schedule based on your years of services with 100% after six years.
  • Loans are available.
  • Access to account information is online or by phone..

Salary

Ave Maria Village reviews wages and salaries in the area periodically to ensure that our pay levels are competitive.  A new employee’s wage or salary is dependent upon experience, and will be discussed during the interview/hiring process.

Holiday Work Premium

The following days are official paid holidays at Ave Maria Village. Holiday hours are paid at time-and-a-half one’s regular rate of pay:

Shift Differentials for Nursing Positions

The following hourly premiums are paid to nursing employees who work shifts other than the day shift, as follows:

$1.50/hour for evening positions (between 2:30 and 11:00 p.m.)
$1.50/hour for night positions (between 10:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.)
